ABC Bans Depp

This is kind of a weird story. Johnny Depp is the star of a new movie called "The Rum Diaries" (based on a Hunter S. Thompson novel), but ABC affiliates are not allowed to interview him about that film.

Why? Disney (owner of ABC) is enforcing a clause in Depp's "Pirates of the Caribbean" contract, saying that they don't want him doing anything that would take away from the attraction of a new Pirates movie. They can't enforce that on other networks, but they can on ABC...so they did.

When I read stories like this, I remember why I have no desire to produce a show again. Between dealing with the film studios, the networks, and the stars themselves, booking celebrity guests is about as fun as extracting a molar without Novocaine.
