As the Rupert Turns

On this morning's episode, Rupert's dream team of lawyers is getting intimately acquainted with a 1977 law called the "Foreign Corrupt Practices Act".

That law makes it a crime for a U.S. based company (like News Corp) to bribe government officials in foreign lands. Since there are multiple charges of bribing Scotland Yard officials pending in the phone hacking case, News Corp is in the process of trying to figure out a way to escape further criminal charges in this country.

Unfortunately for Rupert, the Justice Department is also in the process of manning all the exits.
