Paul Simon on WXRT

I'll be checking this out on Sunday night. From this morning's RAMP newsletter...

"It's quite the coup for venerable CBS Triple A WXRT/Chicago, as the station is heavy enough to have snagged no less a legend than Paul Simon to come to Chicago's Rosemont Theatre this Sunday night to play for them. And here's the cool part -- for the first time ever, Simon has granted permission for a radio station to broadcast his performance in its entirety! It'll be just like those good old days in the '70s when entire concerts were broadcast live on the radio and people loved them. RAMP immediately hit up 'XRT PD Norm Winer, who was more than a little excited at the prospect of setting a Paul Simon precedent and said, "We are flattered and thrilled that we can present Paul Simon's live broadcast debut as it happens on the fabled airwaves of WXRT and simultaneously over the vaunted streaming platform of WXRT.com, shared with all of our CBS Radio cyber-brethren." Expect Simon to play some stuff from latest album So Beautiful or So What and probably throw in a few other tunes you might be familiar with. "This is Paul's third sold-out 'XRT show in Chicago in less than six months," Winer adds. "This market apparently has an appetite for Mr. Simon that can't be satiated!"

I bought Simon's latest CD during a recent Borders closing blowout sale, and it's really quite good.
