If you're in Chicago this week and you want to read the Doonesbury strip, you won't be able to read it in the Chicago Tribune. Doonesbury creator Gary Trudeau is running mini-excerpts from the upcoming book about Sarah Palin (written by Joe McGinnis) in the strip, and the Tribune has decided that this is unfair and unfit to be seen by the human eye.
You can read their reasoning for it here. Basically they feel it is unfair because the book isn't out yet, and therefore hasn't been vetted by the Tribune.
You know who was most excited about this Tribune decision? Gary Trudeau. I'm betting more people tried to read Doonesbury yesterday than any day in the last ten years.
Here's the strip from yesterday.
And here's today's strip.
It may be censored by the Tribune, but it's not exactly very hard to find.
