The soap opera returns with a brand new episode this morning. (I didn't lose my hunger for this story just because I ate so well in Italy). On this morning's episode, we discover that Rupert's newspapers even spied on Britain's intelligence chief, hoping to get some dirt on his personal life.
We also learn that one Scotland Yard official was paid by Rupert to give them crime scoops, and that the former editor of his paper--the one that served as the spokesperson for the Prime Minister until he was arrested--is suing Rupert because News Corp will no longer cover his legal fees. Seems that Rupert had promised that he would.
I know that the American press isn't covering this story (those links are all to international sources), but this really is a huge deal in Europe. The depth of News Corp's involvement in illegal and highly unethical activities overseas has to make you wonder about the way they do business here in this country.
