Another Erin Andrews story

Remember the creepy story of a guy filming ESPN reporter Erin Andrews through a peephole? Well, another story involving Andrews has been percolating on the website Deadspin, and in the courts. A former ESPN staffer told Deadspin that an ESPN executive was caught pleasuring himself on an airplane while sitting next to Andrews. The executive not only vehemently denies it, he sued the staffer for defamation.

That lawsuit may have made him feel better, but it also might have made the story even bigger than it would have been otherwise. Now everyone can report on the story without exposing themselves (pardon the pun) to legal ramifications. Once it's in court, it's a matter of public record, and therefore...a legitimate news story. Also, by suing so quickly he may have actually hurt his chances of suing successfully.

The Hollywood Reporter looks at that part of the story.
