This week in 1908, 1945

Every weekend JOBC goes back in time to the last year the Cubs won the World Series (1908) and the NL Pennant (1945).

This week in 1908, the Cubs-Giants series in New York is so huge that the Tribune sets up a scoreboard outside their offices so Chicagoans can follow the action. Meanwhile in Texas, future president Lyndon Johnson is born.

This week in 1945, Mao makes his move in China, Chicago discusses getting rid of it's streetcar system, and the Cubs crush the Dodgers in Brooklyn.
