Video - Justin Bieber’s Shawty Mane Raps on Chris Brown's New Single “Ladies Love Me”

Okay, we get that Justin Bieber wants to break out of his bubble gum “Baby” image and start his career anew with his next album.

But we’re not sure if hard core rap is going to be his thing.

Bieber just released a new track of his alter ego Shawty Mane rapping with infamous hip hop stars David Banner and Chris Brown on Brown’s latest single “Ladies Love Me” from his upcoming mix tape.

Maybe we are missing something, but this song seems to be missing a beat or two. The backing track sounds very superficial and the drums sound about as fake as they can be.

Also, the turntable scratch seems too load and it all seems like it was mixed by a kindergartener.

What do you think?

I hope this is not an indication of what Bieber plans to release with his new album later this year.

This song almost sounds like something they threw together playing around in the studio as a joke.

But then again, maybe we are missing something.

We know that the Biebs is trying to appear more mature and “manly” these days to help break away from his younger teen-idol mold, but were not sure if this kind of music suits him – or his huge established base of fans.

We also don’t think pranking a Burger King employee and coning on video while cruising around in a $400,000 Rolls-Royce and getting pulled over by the cops will help either.

It does seem that Bieber is now back in the studio full time after taking a much needed break from touring.

He has tweeted several times that he is in the studio and even released a few photos of him and Brown coming and going.

He has also taken some time off to help jump-start his girlfriend Selena Gomez’s tour that kicked off last week.

Justin was seen at her debut concert in Boca Raton Florida before being chased by fans and getting caught with his pants down on a Miami hotel balcony - shirtless and wearing only a pair of grey boxer shorts.

Time will tell how this young artist wishes to portray himself to the public and to his fans. But we hope he treads lightly with the rap because we’re just not sure if his fans will go for it.

But for now, Justin Bieber is Shawty Mane...

Are you a fan? Would you want to hear more rap like this from Justin?

Video - Justin Bieber Talks About His New Album – Producers Talk New Strategy

Justin Bieber is preparing his third studio album expected to drop sometime this November.

After the runaway success of his My World and remix EP’s, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

In fact, some insiders say that his new album titled “Believe” will be a defining moment for the young pop singer as his fans have grown older and are looking for more mature music.

Bieber told MTV last week at his “Someday” event at Macys,

“I want to work a lot with myself. And I want to write a lot myself. I will be working with a lot of other producers and stuff like that, but I’m just writing a lot, and I wrote a lot on tour. I'm writing about how I feel. I’ve been really into it and, hopefully, this next album will be huge.”

And the stakes are high for the superstar.

Insiders say his current fans have begun to tire of the “Baby” and “One Less Lonely Girl” type music and are looking for more mature vibes from the singer – think Justin Timberlake.

Remember “MMMBop” by Hanson? Heard it lately?

Justin needs to produce a record of NEW songs and not just rehash the old ones he already has with remixes and collaborations with hip hop stars.

He needs to bring his existing fans along for the ride, but also appeal to the 18-25 year old market. If this album flops, many think it may spell the end of his miraculous run.

MTV’s Jim Jonsin, who is currently working with Justin on his new album, says,

"For Bieber, I think I want to reach back to New Edition, those days. I want to try to do something like that - 'Please Don't Go Girl,' New Kids on the Block style - because the girls would go crazy. He needs a little bit of soul, R&B, and pop as well."

InfoStar can think of lots of New Kids on the Block, New Edition, or Kelly Rowland tunes that we think would suit Justin very well. But that’s not new material – and that’s what he needs now more than ever.

One message that seems to be heard loud and clear from his current fans is NO MORE RAP OR HIP HOP.

And insiders agree.

Many feel if Bieber strays to close to Chris Brown, 50 Cent, Kanye or Diddy, it will backfire big time with his fans. Just ask any Belieber you know and they will tell you they don’t want him to move into doing hip hop.

But it may be too late.

Some of his fans say that Bieber has changed as he has grown older and they don’t like what they see anymore.

After inking several new tattoos this spring, and his music video collaboration with Chris Brown on “Next 2 You”, his fans are starting to look for a new star to throw their fan power and purchasing muscle behind.

“This is natural. Artists grow and so do their fans. The trick is to not change too much while bringing new, more mature music to the scene. If you move in a direction your fans don’t like it can be over for you as quick as it started.”

Somehow we suspect Bieber will pull off another great album.

There are too many white hot song writers and producers willing to help make sure the new album is the best it can be. There is a lot riding on it for a whole lot of people so we’re pretty sure they will get it right.

“This is a make or break album for Bieber. He can’t get away with singing ‘Baby’ forever and his fans need new material. But he absolutely has to transition into a more mature genre without alienating his existing fans while at the same time bringing in new 18-25 year old fans. Producers have to find new fans who will fall in love with new Justin Bieber songs.”

And hey, if this music thing doesn’t work out for him he can still retire with what he already has – three albums, hit 3D movie, Someday Perfume, and every other merchandise tie-in you can imagine.

We think he’ll do the right thing.

Video - Nicki Minaj Releases New Music Video for “Did It On Em”

The music career of pop singer Nicki Minaj seems to be on an upward trajectory.

After being discovered by Lil Wayne and getting a record deal with Young Money Entertainment, she released three hit singles – “Playtime Is Over” in 2007, “Sucka Free” in 2008, and “Beam Me Up Scotty” in 2009.

Now Minaj, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj, is already planning her summer tour with the infamous Britney Spears.

Her 2010 album “Pink Friday” has already gone platinum, and was the first artist to ever have 7 songs on the Billboard 100 at the same time.

Now she has released her official music video for “Did It On Em”. And it is a bit of a mind blower.

Nicki raps about taking a s*hit on her enemies, and at one point says if she had a d*ick she would pull it out and piss on them also – all while wielding a strap-on dildo.

Interesting to say the least….

After release the video Nicki told her fans,

"Just a way of saying thank u. I love u guys. Thank u for coming out. U guys gave me LIFE on the 'I am still music' Tour. xo4Life."

Minaj has become somewhat of a controversial artist and her sexuality has been called into question by several reporters.

While not admitting to being gay or bisexual, she told “Out” Magazine,

“I do not date or have sex with women, I don’t date men either. I just embrace all people of all lifestyles and I don’t tell them they are bad people. And I say girls are beautiful and girls are sexy and they need to be told that, and if they don’t have anyone to tell them that and mean it, I’m going tell them that. But I feel like people always want to define me and I don’t want to be defined."

Minaj has won several BET Music Awards and been nominated for a “Teen Choice Award”, “MTV Music Award”, and a Grammy Award for best rap duo.
